Welcome to the Barrhead Public Library!

The Barrhead Library started as a community library in December of 1950 with a $200 donation from the estate of homesteader Jack McKerracher and additional government grants. Over the years the library has been moved to various locations, always within the school grounds. It has been housed in the corner of a school, in a one room and then a two room school and in the county office on the school grounds. It was then moved into the larger, specially designed setting where it is today. In 2010, the library celebrated 60 years of service to the Barrhead area community. Our library serves both the Town and County of Barrhead, as well as the school, and is unique in that it has always operated as a combined school and public facility.

You can search for books, DVDs, audiobooks, video games, and more using the online library catalogue, called TRACpac.  Visit the library catalogue at tracpac.ab.ca and login using the barcode number from your library card and your PIN. Regular items may be renewed up to two times, as long as there are no holds on the items. Some exceptions may apply. Princh Remoting Printing - Now Available

We are pleased to announce that we have installed Princh, a wireless printing solution. From now on you can use your own mobile device to print your documents! All you have to do is download the free Princh app from Google play or the App Store, and you are ready to print.

You can also print from your laptop or with a home PC by visiting print.princh.com and connecting to our printer 104832.

Princh also allows you to pay via your credit card or different mobile payment options. The printing prices are the same as printing from within the library!

Guide posters are set-up in the library, and our staff will always be ready to help you if you have any questions.
