About Library Memberships
Membership is open to all individuals residing in the town or county of Barrhead. A membership is valid for one year from date of issue and may only be used by the person to which it is issued. You may purchase multiple years of membership in advance.

Barrhead Public Library participates in the Welcome to Barrhead program. If you are a first time, new resident to our community, visit the library in your first 3 months and receive the first year of membership free.

A BPL membership may be used at any library within Alberta. If the library is among the Yellowhead Regional Library system, no extra steps are required! But to ensure your membership works in all other libraries, register your card with ME Libraries. ME Libraries lets you join other public libraries across Alberta and borrow their materials using ONE library card. Making the most of your library card and access more items for no additional cost!

Fines
Overdue items are subject to library fines. Fines for all items are $0.25 per day, per item. All outstanding fines must be paid before more items can be checked out on your account. Late fees can add up quickly! If you have overdue items, please return them as soon as possible, call the library to have your items renewed, or renew them online at www.tracpac.ab.ca.

Memberships and fines may be paid for by cash, cheque, debit or e-transfer to Accounts@BarrheadPublicLibrary.ca
