NOTHING prepares you to be the first person in GENERATIONS of your lineage to bring your babies home, and raise them. Robin is a DEADLY AUNTIE, and the embodiment of "Sacred Knowledge Keeper". She deserves recognition because every time she speaks - she resonates and every time she resonates she makes an impact. Robin's impact will ripple through our community and our families for generations. When I see Robin in the community wearing a ribbon skirt I walk a little bit taller, and stand a little bit straighter. I feel safer, and seen. What is Volunteer Appreciation?

National Volunteer Week 2024 — April 14 – 20

National Volunteer Week is an opportunity to celebrate the vibrancy and impact of volunteerism in our communities and across our country. Every April, Volunteer Canada leads the National Volunteer Week (NVW) campaign. In partnership with the Government of Alberta, VA hopes to support communities across the province in their own local celebrations of the wonderful work of volunteers, past, present and future.

This Year’s National Volunteer Week Theme is “Every Moment Matters”

“The theme for National Volunteer Week highlights the importance of every volunteer and each contribution they make at a moment when we need support more than ever. The sharing of time, skills, empathy, and creativity is vital to the inclusivity, strength, and well-being of our communities.

Volunteers are fundamental to meeting this challenging moment. By coming together, committing support, and increasing our collective efforts and impact, we contribute exponentially to the quality of life we all strive for.

During National Volunteer Week 2024, we come together to recognize and celebrate the importance of each and every volunteer’s impact from coast to coast to coast. Now more than ever, Every Moment Matters."

The Barrhead Volunteer Appreciation Awards is part of Canada's National Volunteer Week celebrations. Organized by the Barrhead & District Volunteer Appreciation Committee.
