Covid 19 Health Concerns and Updates

Published: March 15, 2020
Last Updated: March 23, 2020

We at the Barrhead Public Library are taking the developing COVID-19 (coronavirus) situation seriously. For news on what is currently in effect at the Library see below, for the latest updates from Alberta Health Services visit; www.alberta.ca/COVID19

As of March 18th the Barrhead & Neerlandia Public Libraries will be closed to the public until further notice. The staff of the Barrhead Library will still be at work Monday thru Friday from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. beginning Wednesday, March 25th to assist our patrons via email & phone.

The building is closed to the public, however we will assist you in putting together 'take-out' packages of books or movies and arrange a pick-up time so you may continue to enjoy reading. Please contact the library at (780) 674-8519 or email our general account at library@barrheadpubliclibrary.ca during our new hours Monday - Friday from 12 p.m. - 4 p.m. beginning Wednesday, March 25th.

If you have library items in your possession you may return them to the outside slot at the library (left of the front entrance). All items currently checked-out have been automatically renewed to May 15th, 2020, meaning you do not have to worry about getting items back during this pandemic.

Remember, with your library membership you may download new books, audiobooks, movies, etc... using the Library's e-resources such as Overdrive & Hoopla here: barrheadpubliclibrary.ca/eresources

Please call the Library at (780) 674-8519 or email our general account at library@barrheadpubliclibrary.ca anytime if you have general questions or require assistance with your account/e-resources.

Your cooperation and understanding during this time is greatly appreciated.

If you have questions or concerns about these measures, please call:
Elaine Dickie, Library Director
